Toyota
Since 1971
Submitted By: Betty J. - Chatsworth, CA

I have had Toyotas since 1971. I looked at other cars but always went back to the best. Toyota.
My first Toyota was a 1971 Tercel (or maybe a Corolla) Then we added a 1974 station wagon. In 1976 the day we were moving from NH to CA, the '71 was broadsided by a big older car and totaled. The police at the scene said they had never seen a crash like that where someone was not dead or critical. My son had a mild concussion. We replaced the '71 with a '72. We gave the '74 wagon to our son who needed transportation. Replaced it with a 1981 Cressida. The '72 was given to another son. The was turned in for another Toyota later. The 1974 lived till about 1990 when my son gave it away after over 350,000 miles.
The 1981 Cressida was turned in for a 1989 Tercel. That was later sold in 2002.
In 1994 I leased a new Corolla, turned that in at end of lease for a 1998 Camry. I love my Camry! When that lease was up I bought a 2002 Camry. Would I buy a car other than a Toyota? NO!!!

I believe not only is it the best car for comfort, reliability, mileage, and pleasure, it is also safe.
Besides the 1971 being a lifesaver my son had a 1989 Tercel hatchback that was in an accident caused by a wrongway driver on the 405 freeway. The car was totaled having been hit in front and side, but he came away with a broken collarbone from the seat belt. Looking at the car there is no way you would believe someone had survived.
I love my Toyota Camry. Because of the reliability of the car this will probably be the last car I buy. I am 70 and on fixed income so I am extremely happy I my Camry to see me through the next 20 years.
Thank you Toyota :-)

P.S. Two of my sons have both just purchased, not knowing the other had, a Prius and a Highlander.
