My Tercel even survived a flood!

I leased my 1994 Tercel in January of 1994. It was replacing a 1995 Saab. I was not altogether happy about this situation. But, it turned out to be a FANTASTIC replacement. This car has served me well. It has driven from Colorado to New Jersey 26 times. Texas to New York more than 10 times. It even carried myself and 5 roommates to Florida and back for spring break one year. In 1997, I was driving back home from attending a class. I was listening to a tape and not paying attention to the weather. Little did I know that a flood loomed ahead. As I drove, a wall of water hit my car. My Tercel continued to run, even when submerged! Luckily the waters were less deep ahead. Since then, the car has made the rounds, being loaned to friends and family for short periods of time. It always makes it way back to me. My 3 kids lovingly refer to it as "The Blue Car". My students have been asking me for years now when I will replace it. The Tercel holds a special place in my heart. Still with all of its original parts (except for the water pump that was replaced after the flood), she continues to run day in and day out. I know someday soon I'll replace it. But, I won't be happy about it!
