Yes I am still happily driving my 1981 SR5 pickup. I did a favor for a contractor friend back in 1994 and he gave me the truck as he had just purchased a new Toyota truck. I did not like the idea of it being given to me so I gave him $500. At that time it had 333,398 miles based on service records and a recently installed rebuilt engine. The truck now has 673,078 miles. I love this truck. It has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. Even when it is not running perfectly for some reason it still runs until I can get it repaired. Its body is pretty beat up but I have kept its mechanical parts and working parts in good repair. I recently installed two seats in almost new condition which I found in a Toyota camper at a dismantlers and had the carburetor rebuilt by a pro. I have used this truck for everything from commuting and camping to hauling rock and lumber. But the best experience is every time I bump into my friend, the original owner, he comes over and with a huge grin leans over and kisses the truck.
