Toyota Trucks
Old dependable
Submitted By: Roberta H. - Exeter, RI

My father never owned a new vehicle in his life until he was 70 years old. He was from the old school and wasn't crazy about Japanese vehicles. As a daughter who fell in love with Toyota's years before, I talked him into buying a 1985 bare bones Toyota pick up truck. It became his baby and he would wax it every month to the point where it was like looking into a mirror. He absolutely loved that truck. Sadly, my Dad passed away in 1993 and my Mom left it to me as she never drove. It became part of the family, and my son who adored my Dad, took it over as his second vehicle and proudly drives it, thinking of his Gampy. Believe it or not, it is still going strong with well over 150,00 - 200,000 miles plus on it. I have owned all Camry's myself but when the other vehicles in the family (definitely not Toyota's) break down, that old dependable truck gets everyone to where they need to go without a doubt. Now that is dependable. It has had a few mechanical repairs and a little touch up on the pick up bed but it is still going strong.
My daughter lives out of this country and when she comes home to visit, it is her vehicle to use to get around and I'm sure my Dad is looking down laughing and saying "now that is my baby".
Thank you Toyota for building such wonderful vehicles. I myself can't wait to order my next new Camry -a new 2007 Camry XLE V6.
